How Office Hot Water Dispensers Save Time And Money!

We all know the essential role a hot cup of tea or coffee can play on a stressful work day – but do you know how much time is spent waiting for the kettle to boil? And how much time AND money you can save by having hot water on tap using a hot drinks water boiler?
The average kettle takes around 4 minutes to boil enough water for 6 mugs of water. It may be more if you are very traditional and using a cup and saucer, but I’m not sure any of us are actually doing that at work. Speaking personally, I’m filling my mug right up and hoping I don’t forget to drink it before it gets cold this time!
It could seem at a glance as if four minutes wouldn’t have much of an impact – but in terms of working time lost, if we work on the basis of 3 cups of tea a day, that is 12 minutes lost work-time a day, which is an hour a week – over the course of a year, one member of staff alone could be getting paid for around 48 hours of kettle boiling! Even at minimum wage that is over £580 a year spent on boiling the kettle! Now multiply that to allow for the amount of staff *actually* boiling the kettle, and the numbers are rising quite alarmingly!
Now lets look at a hot water dispenser. For an example we’ll look at the Powersmart – this offers 6 Litres instant draw off, and up to 17 litres an hour. The cost of this machine is £484.99 currently – so less than you are spending on that one staff member to boil the kettle in one year!
And there are other benefits. Convenience – people can help themselves to a hot drink instantly when they want to. Volume – if you a lot of people in your workspace throughout the day, then rather than repeatedly boiling smaller amounts of water, there is water on tap for everyone. If you have a large workforce, you can look at one of our higher capacity hot water dispensers like the Calomax Eco Boiler.
